About

Who we are

Grandmama’s House is a locally owned company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Our vision and mission were inspired by Oakland City, a low-income neighborhood located in Southwest Atlanta on the verge of transitioning, is the beginning of our journey to preserve what we value in tradition and legacy. With experience and dedication, we at Grandmama's House help low-income seniors to attain their goals of Age in Place with Dignity.

Why we care

We are dedicated to help seniors 55 years and older who are being displaced at an alarming rate in the surrounding areas of Atlanta. These seniors are facing aggressive enforcement to sell their homes way below fair market value. That happens because they either don’t have the money or lack the knowledge of available resources to help them maintain their homes.

What we do

Grandmama’s House connects seniors to governmental home repair programs and adjunct resources necessary to meet certain eligibility requirements. We also provide coaching and technical assistance to help clients overcome any obstacles they may encounter during the qualification process.

Our goal is to ensure seniors remain warm, safe and dry in their existing homes and remain an important thread in the fabric of their communities.

Who we serve

To qualify, a senior must be at least 55 years old, have a low income, and be a homeowner living in Atlanta. Rising utility and healthcare costs make it difficult, and sometimes impossible, for many of these homeowners to pay for critical repairs or even simple maintenance. Grandmama’s House makes it possible for these seniors to age in place with dignity, or in other words, to enjoy a comfortable life with their loved ones – an important thing among their primary wishes.

Our goal is to ensure seniors remain warm, safe and dry in their existing homes and remain an important thread in the fabric of their communities.

Our Vision

Seniors living in Atlanta are able to

Age in Place with Dignity.

Our Mission

Grandmama’s House educates, informs and advocates for seniors living in Atlanta about governmental and philanthropic home repair programs in order to achieve the vision of seniors aging in place with dignity and pass their wealth onto the next generations to come.
